Training on Media Literacy and Advocacy Held in Tbilisi as Part of “Advocating Truth” Project

Within the framework of the project “Advocating Truth: Capacity Development of Youth Organizations for Democratic Sustainability,” a training course was held in Tbilisi on July 7-8 and 9-10, 2024. The training includedtwo key modules: media literacy and advocacy, and a training of trainers session.

This event equipped participants with essential knowledge and skills, enabling them to conduct educational and awareness-raising activities at the local level on the dangers of misinformation and media illiteracy. Moreover, participants are now prepared to act as peer educators within their own communities.

The project is dedicated to promoting democratic values and combating disinformation by enhancing youth media literacy and advocacy skills. The program is supported by the Estonian Embassy in Georgia and the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Estonian organization Youth for the Good of Society/Noored Ühiskonna Heaks as a key partner.

This initiative underscores the importance of empowering young people to become active defenders of truth and democracy in their communities.
