The project “Advocating Truth: Capacity Building of Youth CSOs for Democratic Resilience in Kvemo Kartli, Georgia”, implemented in the period of June, 2024 – September, 2024 was successfully completed.
The project impacted the capacity of representatives of the local youth civil society and educational organizations in Kvemo Kartli region, Georgia to advocate for democratic values and combat anti-Western disinformation in local communities.Â
Local youth leaders acquired essential skills in fact-checking, debunking, and critical thinking, enabling them to effectively counter harmful narratives; They gained the expertise to design and implement awareness raising activities on information resilience, focusing on anti-Western disinformation.
The project empowered local organisations and initiative groups in Kvemo Kartli region with advocacy skills to reach vulnerable groups, such as ethnic minorities, older people, and youth in rural areas, with tailored information and media literacy initiatives. Local youth leaders became motivated to share their knowledge and skills within their communities in the villages they live in, creating a multiplier effect of positive change.
