Media Literacy Workshop Held in Gori on 5 April to Strengthen Youth Resilience Against Disinformation
On April 5, 2025, a media literacy workshop was successfully held in Gori, bringing together local youngsters to explore the challenges and opportunities of navigating today’s complex information environment.
The workshop focused on key questions such as: How can we raise a generation that is resilient to disinformation? How do we combat fake news effectively? And how can we protect the truth and safeguard democratic values? These pressing issues framed the sessions and sparked meaningful discussions among participants.
Through practical examples and interactive group work, attendees examined real-world scenarios, developed their critical thinking skills, and gained tools to better evaluate and respond to media content. The workshop emphasized the importance of media literacy in promoting democratic values and informed civic engagement.
The activity was organized within the framework of the project “Empowering Youth Resilience: Fighting Disinformation and Promoting European Aspirations in Conflict-Affected and Ethnic Minority Communities,” implemented by the Youth Center for Civil Development (YCCD). The initiative is financially supported by the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund.
The workshop was kindly hosted by TV-Radio Traieti.
