Action Planning Workshop Empowers Youth to Tackle Disinformation Locally

Rustavi, Georgia – April 27–28, 2025 — An Action Planning Workshop: Strengthening Local Resilience Against Disinformation was successfully held in Rustavi, Georgia, bringing together young civic and media activists from conflict-affected areas and ethnic minority communities.

The two-day workshop was organized within the framework of the project “Empowering Youth Resilience: Fighting Disinformation and Promoting European Aspirations in Conflict-Affected and Ethnic Minority Communities”, implemented by the Youth Center for Civil Development (YCCD). The initiative is supported by the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund.

The event created a platform for 14 youth participants from Shida Kartli and Kvemo Kartli regions to reflect on key lessons from a recent study visit to Vilnius, Lithuania, and to co-develop a draft communication strategy aimed at combating anti-Western narratives and disinformation in their local communities.
