Capacity Building Program – Strengthening Civil Society Initiatives Countering Disinformation in Kvemo Kartli Region financed by Embassy of Lithuania in Georgia 1.05.2022 – 15.11.2022
This project successfully executed a range of activities to promote a deeper understanding of Georgia’s European aspirations and counter disinformation and anti-western propaganda in Kvemo Kartli. These activities included media literacy training, Training of Trainers, establishing an initiative group, a study visit to Vilnius, developing a communication strategy, training for school teachers and pupils, and creating awareness-raising materials.
Through these initiatives, the project significantly strengthened the Kvemo Kartli region’s capacity to combat anti-western disinformation while fostering the exchange of best practices and facilitating direct connections between civil society organizations in Lithuania and Georgia. The project played a vital role in advancing media literacy and advocacy, promoting Georgia’s European aspirations, and addressing the challenges of disinformation in Kvemo Kartli, particularly among ethnic minorities and rural communities.
